*Incentive is capped at $9,000 per property, per year. There is no limit on equipment to be recycled.

How it Works

  1. Submit an Online Application and complete a workbook with building and equipment information.
  2. An program team member will review and confirm eligibility.
  3. A participating contractor contacts you to schedule a pickup.

  4. Receive your incentive in 4 to 6 weeks.

  • Lower emissions and prevent releases of PCBs (toxic chemicals), mercury, and used oil into the environment

  • Reduce the need for new raw materials such as steel, aluminum, copper, glass, and plastic

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be the building owner and have an active commercial Atlantic City Electric account with a valid account number.
  • Your appliances will be picked up at no charge from the address listed on your billing account.
  • Building owner must own the refrigerator, freezer, dehumidifier, and/or room air conditioner.
  • Your appliances must be in working condition to receive the incentive. If the appliances are not plugged in at the time of the pickup, they will be tested at our recycling facility. If the unit is found to not be in working condition, the appliance will not be eligible for an incentive.
  • Minimum of 15 large appliances (full size refrigerator or freezer) or 30 small appliances (A/C, dehumidifier, compact refrigerator) to participate.
    • Mix and match allowed at a rate of 2 small appliances = 1 large appliance (for example a customer can participate with 14 large appliances and 2 small appliances)

  • We cannot accept refrigerators or freezers with a volume of 30ft^3 or more.

  • The refrigerator, freezer, and/or dehumidifier must be cleaned out, and room air conditioner must be removed from window prior to pickup.
  • The refrigerator or freezer must be defrosted and dry, drip pan drained, and water lines disconnected. We are unable to accept any appliances with mold or mildew damage.
  • There must be a clear and safe passage for appliance removal. We cannot remove railings or move furniture.
  • The building owner or an authorized representative, age 18 or older, must be present at the time of pickup.
  • For outside pickups, refrigerators or freezers must be collected from a designated outside location (garage, lobby, or outbuilding). Ensure the appliance(s) are closed securely and cannot be opened by children.
  • For in-unit pickups, elevator access is required for any refrigerators or freezers located above the second floor.
