Better living starts with better lighting.

In the heart of Atlantic City, Benetton Holdings, LLC manages the Lenox Apartments—a mixed-use community with 32 residential and six commercial units.

Built in 1965, the property serves a predominantly low-income, minority community. After decades of use, it was ready for meaningful upgrades, starting with lighting.

The Opportunity

With old, inefficient fluorescent technology and high-pressure sodium lighting still in the building, maintenance teams could barely keep up with the bulb changes and normal upkeep. Plus, energy costs were higher than they should have been.

The Upgrades

After being contacted by Queen Lighting, a program-approved Trade Ally, building management learned that Atlantic City Electric provided incentives to cover almost all of the cost to upgrade their lighting.

Upgrades included energy-efficient LED lighting in the apartments’ interior common areas, building exterior, and parking lot, as well as new occupancy and photocell controls.

The Results

With new, energy-efficient lighting inside and out, the property is now safer, more inviting, and brighter for residents. It also helped reduce the building’s operating costs.
