A Contractor’s Step-By-Step GuideStep1When an Atlantic City Electric customer in New Jersey contacts you to discuss upgrading their home’s energy efficiency, discuss their concerns and schedule a Home Energy Assessment.Step2Complete the comprehensive Home Energy Assessment at the Atlantic City Electric's customer’s home. The assessment includes a complete visual inspection, diagnostic tests and installation of several simple, energy-saving measures such as energy-efficient lighting and efficient-flow showerheads.Step3After completing the assessment, provide the Atlantic City Electric customer with a Home Energy Assessment Report that details the findings and recommendations for improvements. In the report, you will include any applicable rebates available from Atlantic City Electric and estimated energy savings.Step4Your Atlantic City Electric Company customer then decides which improvements to install and you perform the work. Possible energy efficiency improvements include:Adding insulation and sealing air leaksSealing and insulating ductworkWindow replacements as part of a larger air sealing and insulation jobImproving heating and cooling systemsUpgrading lighting, appliances, and water heating equipmentStep5Test the end result for efficiency and address any air quality or safety issues immediately.Step6Within 30 days of the installation, submit the rebate application on behalf of your Atlantic City Electric Company customer.
