In-Person Quick Home Energy Check-up

How It Works

A trained Energy Analyst will visit your home and assess the condition of the following items:

  • Insulation levels
  • Air leakage
  • Heating and cooling systems
  • Windows and doors
  • Lighting and appliances
  • Water heating equipment

What You Get

After completing the assessment, your Energy Analyst will:

  • Provide you with a summary report explaining the findings
  • Identify ways you can reduce energy use and costs
  • Install energy-saving products at no cost with your permission. Products may include, ENERGY STAR® certified LED bulbs,  water heater pipe wrap(s), ShowerStart™ showerhead adapter, efficient-flow showerheads, faucet aerators, smart power strips, smart thermostats, and more.*
*The QHEC Program customizes energy efficiency recommendations and measures to each individual's home. The energy-saving products offered apply to the specific needs of each house, and as a result, not every customer will receive every product.

Energy Analyst Health and Safety Protocols

All Atlantic City Electric Contractors have implemented health and safety protocols that meet or exceed public health guidelines. These protocols keep technicians safe and can help protect you and your family. They include (but are not limited to) a minimum of six feet of social distancing, the wearing of face masks and other protective equipment, technician wellness screenings, the washing of hands throughout the day, and the sanitizing of equipment and electronics before and between service calls. When scheduling your appointment, ask your contractor about other specific health and safety questions or concerns you may have.

The ENERGY STAR Difference**

During your no-cost home energy check-up, an Energy Analyst may recommend products including ENERGY STAR certified LED bulbs and smart thermostats. Products that have earned the ENERGY STAR deliver exceptional features, while using less energy.

An ENERGY STAR certified light bulb lasts up to 15 times longer, saves about $55 in electricity costs over its lifetime and uses about 70-90% less energy than incandescent lighting. They also are durable, versatile, and most are dimmable.
