Seaside Hotel Gives Guests a Memorable ExperienceAs a resort hotel providing oceanfront accommodations to families from the Northeast, Midwest, and even Canada, Armada By-the-Sea is a place to relax and enjoy the summer. It also needs to keep its guests comfortable. The OpportunityThe resort offers 58 guest rooms, many of which are suites that have two air conditioners. Several larger rooms have as many as three individual air conditioning units. That’s a lot to cool off during the hotel’s peak season and under New Jersey’s hot summer sun.But with Atlantic City Electric’s Energy Management program, incentives for energy-saving upgrades allowed the hotel to get all of their air conditioners cleaned and tuned up so they operate more efficiently—helping the business save money. The UpgradesBy maintaining its air conditioners, the resort can prolong each unit’s use, even in an environment where rust is an enormous challenge. In total, 107 air conditioners were tuned up, and the project was completed in four days. With the price of larger air conditioners now exceeding $1,000 per unit, keeping the current units cleaned and maintained saves Armada By-the-Sea thousands of dollars. And while the cost of tuning up all of the hotel’s units would have been $8,375, it was performed free of charge through incentives from Atlantic City Electric.*The ResultsThe HVAC tune-up project included 107 packaged terminal air conditioner tune-ups across 13 different models and two single-compressor split heat pumps. This resulted in an incentive of $8,375 and an estimated energy savings of 45,163 kWh per year.Experience the success firsthand. The Energy Management program helps businesses optimize their existing equipment and systematically manage energy usage with incentives that can help cover service costs. The program offers several paths—HVAC Tune-up, Full Building Tune-up, Monitoring-Based Commissioning, Strategic Energy Management, and Operations and Maintenance Training.(opens in a new tab)Explore our Programs (opens in a new tab)Find a Trade Ally
